The Next Right Thing, Part 2

Recently, I made my weekly run to check our post office box. While emptying it, our postmaster, Patrick, passed me at a socially responsible distance.

“How’s it going, Patrick?” I asked.

“It’s pretty scary, Rodney. We’re still processing the mail, but it feels like we’re on the front lines of this pandemic.”

I nodded and offered my sympathies and thanks for his efforts.

As I left, I got to thinking—was I keeping my promise to do the “next right thing” by continuing to deliver Camp Business via the mail when I had an equally attractive, digital option available?

I wasn’t sure. I pushed the thought to the back of my mind. The next few days proved interesting. Emails from clients in COVID-19  hot spots (like New York) started pinging my Inbox asking me to deliver their magazine and tear sheets via email and to please discontinue mailing hard copies “out of an abundance of caution.”

As the communication piled up, it became obvious we needed to make a change.

So, starting with the May/June issue, we’re going to deliver Camp Business only via digital channels to all subscribers—even our print subscribers – unless given express permission otherwise. If you feel it is absolutely necessary to receive a print copy during the COVID19 Pandemic, please visit campbusiness.com/subscribe and follow the onscreen instructions. If you’re comfortable receiving your magazine digitally, no action is required.

Moving forward, we’re going to evaluate on a month-by-month basis and return to normal operations when it’s safe to do so.

The good news? We’ve been building our digital capabilities for years—and have several new things to release in the coming months. Stay tuned on this front.

As always, let me know if you have any questions about this temporary change. We’re here for you as we all find ways to operate in a safe, responsible way. And, we'll be sure to do our job and gather up more great stories to help get us all through this.

Hope you and your loved ones are all healthy.

Sincerely,

Rodney J. Auth
