Diamond Brand Canvas Products
Products and prices: Standard Wall Tents with steel frame: 7' x 9', $385; 10' x 12', $610; 12' x 16', $720. Permanent Wall Tents with steel frames: 12' x 14', $795; 14' x 14', $830; 14' x 16', $955. Deluxe Wall Tent with steel frame: 16' x 16', $1,065. Prices offered include tents and steel frames. Optional components -- like liners, floors and alternate pole configurations -- are priced separately. All prices are available from the company
Typical uses: These soft-wall structures are typically used to house campers and/or staff in either short-term or long-term sessions. They may also be used in wilderness settings for housing, remote First Aid stations, classrooms, etc. Available optional equipment (see Amenities) provides a myriad of possibilities for use of these shelters.
Length of construction/build/installation time: Erection time for basic structures depends upon the frame configuration and pitching location chosen. A smaller tent (e.g. 7' x 9') with a steel frame can be set up by two people in 15-20 minutes, while a larger unit (e.g. 12' x 16') with a steel frame would probably take twice as long. These same units, pitched on wooden or aluminum poles, would require approximately 30 minutes additional time to install and adjust guy ropes. The addition of liners or tub floors obviously adds to the installation time.
Mobility: Tents pitched with wooden or aluminum poles are usually temporary structures. Units equipped with steel frames can easily be moved, since these frames are self-standing. However, the steel frames may also be affixed to a permanent structure (platform, etc.) with screws or nails installed through steel plates, which are provided with the poles. Since the steel is coated with a baked-on powder paint, the frames can be left standing year-round, even if the tents are removed.
Ease of installation: Complete installation instructions are included with each steel frame. Instructions for pitching the tents with wooden or aluminum poles are available upon request.
Amenities offered: Each tent is offered with a choice of frame: steel, wood, or aluminum. The wooden and aluminum frames consist of two upright poles and one ridgepole. The steel frames are constructed with rafters, ridges and uprights in the shape and size of each tent. Because there are no upright poles in the centers of the doors, these frames are ideal for use on handicapped accessible sites. Full-size screen liners are and tub floors are optional items for each size tent. However, these components require steel frames for satisfactory use. NOTE: Screen liners successfully address health issues related to mosquitoes, birds and bats. Vinyl flies, which prolong the life of the tent roof, are available for the tents. The 16' x 16' Deluxe Wall Tent only may also be equipped with a stovepipe hole and a winter liner.
Most appropriate climates: The standard units are suitable for three-season use in most climates, assuming occupants are adequately equipped with cool-weather gear. The Deluxe model, if equipped with a stove and a winter liner, can be used in even the most brutal temperatures. In hot, humid climates, the screen liners will allow both doors and both sides of the tents to remain opened around the clock. These liners may be attached to a platform, to the ground (with stakes) or to a tub floor to minimize access for crawling and/or flying pests.
Site preparation required: For permanent structures, wooden platforms provide the most convenient and practical base for wall tents. If the tents are pitched temporarily, any level area (outside a ravine) which is large enough to provide space for the tent and any guy ropes required is suitable. It is advisable to choose an area where the earth will accept tent pegs.
Lifespan of structure: As with any fabric structure, care and regular maintenance are critical to the lifetime of the product. Tears should be repaired promptly and debris should be kept from the roofs of the tents. Fabric may be treated periodically with commercially available products to renew water resistance capability. Typically, it is recommended that the tents be cycled for replacement approximately every five years. Replacement parts are available for frames as needed.
Support and warranty policies: Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from accidents, neglect, unreasonable use, improper care, or other causes that are not attributable to defects in workmanship and/or materials.

Lifespan of structure: 50-100 years. The things that can and will wear out are normal items such as the stain on the siding (needs to be re-done every 5-10 years depending on type chosen and exposure) and the composition roofing (a 20-40 year lifecycle). The windows included carry a lifetime warranty
Warranty policies: The building itself has a one-year warranty and many of the components incorporated into the buildings carry their own extended warrantees (doors, the windows, skylights and roofing)
