ACA Endorses Child Protection Plan

The Child Protection Plan developed by Kanakuk Kamps has received the American Camping Association’s Educational Endorsed Program designation.

Educational Endorsement means that the program has been reviewed by a qualified panel to verify that the goals, learner outcomes, presenter qualifications, and evaluation requirements are relevant for this educational program.

Continuing education credits (CECs) are available for this endorsed program.

Rick Braschler , author of The Child Protection Plan and director of risk management for Kanakuk Kamps said, “We are pleased with the ongoing development of the Child Protection Plan in an effort to prevent, detect, or respond to child sexual abuse in a camp setting.

"The Child Protection Plan is unlike any safety system out in the market today for camps in that it provides nuts and bolts solutions and is field ready right off the shelf."

The plan is a comprehensive safety system for the prevention, detection, and response of child physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse in youth-serving organizations.

The goal of the plan is to establish a road map to equip organizations with a systems-based plan for safeguarding youth, detecting perpetrators,  and sustaining the organization.

The CPP Seminar is an eight-hour session for the purpose of training organizational leaders on the methodology, content, and strategies necessary for implementing the CPP.

Participants will learn about abuse awareness, case studies, outdated information, tactics, CPP goals, implementation strategies, and self-assessment process.

They will receive sample forms, training content, a full color workbook, and a writeable CD.
